Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Workplace, Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team in Sunshine North. Reporting to the Site Manager, you will be responsible for providing support and partner with the operations team to improvements of the overall safety performance and culture at the site . The role will also include but will not be limited to the following responsibilities:

  • Conduct inductions, training, and competency assessment of new and existing workers,
  • Be visible and regularly engage with all workers through safety meetings, toolbox talks, safety observations, etc.
  • Coach, mentor and educate workers, team leaders and supervisors to achieve best safety practices.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections, monitoring and analysis of work areas.
  • Undertake risk assessments, incident reporting and root cause investigations.
  • Work closely with the National WHS Team and Operations Team to implement safety improvement programs, policies and procedures.

To Be Successful

  • Minimum Cert IV Work Health & Safety.
  • Cert IV Training and Assessing.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience and knowledge of health and safety within a manufacturing environment is desirable.
  • Sound knowledge of computer applications (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet and intranet relevant to the role to ensure work is completed in a professional, accurate and timely manner.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, including stakeholder engagement, to ensure clear and concise information is presented to the team, manager and customers.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with an ability to prioritise tasks to achieve tight deadlines.
  • High levels of self-motivation, drive and initiative combined with the ability to adapt to changes in circumstances.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required.
  • High levels of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
